"No one of you is a believer until he loves for his brother that which he loves for himself."
[Saying of the Prophet Muhammad(peace be upon him)]

Many years ago, when I worked at a hospital, I got to know a little girl named Ameena who was suffering from a rare and serious disease. Her only chance of recovery appeared to be a blood transfusion from her 5-year old brother Abdullah, who had miraculously survived the same disease and had developed the antibodies needed to combat the illness. The doctor explained the situation to her little brother Abdullah carefully, and asked the little boy if he would be willing to give his blood to his sister Ameena who needed it urgently to survive..

I saw Abdullah hesitate for only a moment before taking a deep breath and saying, "Yes I'll do it, if it will save her." As the transfusion progressed, he lay in bed next to his sister and smiled, as we all did, seeing the colour returning to Ameena's cheeks.

Then Abdullah's face grew pale and his smile faded. Then Abdullah looked up at the doctor and asked with a trembling voice, "Will I start to die right away?"

Being young, the little boy had misunderstood the doctor; he thought he was going to have to give his sister Ameena all of his blood in order to save her life.

OUR ALLAH IS SO GREAT!!!

OUR ALLAH IS SO GREAT!!!

This story was written by a Muslim doctor who worked in Africa.

One night I had worked hard to help a mother in the labor ward;  but in spite of all we could do she died leaving us with a  tiny premature baby and a crying two-year-old daughter.

We would have difficulty keeping the baby alive, as we had no incubator.
(We had no electricity to run an incubator.) We also had no special feeding facilities. Although we lived on the equator,  nights were often chilly with treacherous drafts.

One student midwife went for the box we had for such babies and the cotton wool the baby would be wrapped in. Another went to stoke up the fire and fill a hot water bottle.
She came back shortly in distress to tell me that in filling the  bottle, it had burst. Rubber perishes easily in tropical climates.

And it is our last hot water bottle!" she exclaimed.
It is no good crying over spilled milk, so in Central Africa it might be considered no good crying over burst  water bottles. They do not grow on trees, and there are no  medicine stores down forest pathways.

"All right," I said, "put the baby as near the fire as you  safely  can, and sleep between the baby and the door to keep it  free  from drafts. "Your job is to keep the baby warm."
The following noon, as I did most days, I went to have prayers  with any of the orphanage children who chose to gather with me.

I gave the youngsters various suggestions of things to pray  about  and told them about the tiny baby.  I explained our problem about keeping the baby warm enough, mentioning the hot water bottle. The baby could so easily die  if it got chills. I also told them of the two-year-old  sister,  crying  because her mother had died.

During the prayer time, one ten-year-old girl, prayed with  the usual blunt conciseness of our African children. "Please,  Allah,"  she prayed, "send us a water bottle. It'll be no good  tomorrow,  Allah, as the baby will be dead, so please send it this afternoon."

While I gasped inwardly at the audacity of the prayer, she added  by way of a corollary, "And while You are about it, would You  please send a dolly for the little girl so she'll know You  really  love her?"

As often with children's prayers, I was put on the spot. Could I  honestly say, "Ameen?" I just did not sincerely believe that  this was really possible.

Oh, yes, I know that Allah can do everything. The Holy Quraan says so.

But my faith was not so strong, surely there are limits, aren't there? The only way Allah  could answer  would be for a package to arrive from my home country.

I had been in Central Africa for almost four years at that time, and I had  never, ever received a parcel from home. Anyway, if anyone  did  send me a parcel, who would put in a hot water bottle? I  lived on  the equator!

Halfway through the afternoon, while I was teaching in the  nurses' training school, a message was sent that there was  a car  at my front door. By the time I reached home, the car had  gone,  but there, on the verandah, was a large twenty-two kilogram parcel.

I felt tears pricking my eyes. I could not open the parcel  alone,  so I sent for the orphanage children. Together we pulled  off the  string, carefully undoing each knot. We folded the paper,  taking  care not to tear it unduly. Excitement was mounting
.
Some thirty or forty pairs of eyes were focused on the large  cardboard box. From the top, I lifted out brightly colored, knitted  cotton  jerseys. Eyes sparkled as I gave them out. Then there were the  knitted bandages for the leprosy patients, and the children  looked  a little bored. Then came a box of mixed raisins and  sultanas-  that would make a batch of buns for the weekend. Then, as I put  my hand in again, I felt the...could it really be? I grasped it and  pulled it out -- yes, a brand-new, rubber hot water bottle, I cried.  I had not asked Allah to send it; I had not truly believed that He could.

The ten year old was in the front row of the children. She rushed  forward, crying out, If Allah has sent the bottle, He must have sent the  dolly,  too!"

Rummaging down to the bottom of the box, she pulled out the  small,  beautifully dressed rag dolly. The little rag dolly had no eyes, ears or even a mouth. But yes it was a dolly. Her eyes shone! She had never doubted.

Looking up at me, she asked: "Can I go over with you, Mummy, and  give this rag dolly to that little girl, so she'll know that Allah  really  loves  her?"

That parcel had been on the way for five whole months.  Packed up by my former school class, whose leader had  heard and obeyed Allah's prompting to send a hot water bottle, even  to  the equator. And one of the girls had put in a rag dolly for an African  child-  five months before -- in answer to the believing prayer of  a ten-  year-old  to bring it "that afternoon."

"Before they call for prayer, I will answer all prayers!"

Allah wants us to ask of Him…and he will surely answer.

Please share this amazing story with as many others as you can.

Our Allah really IS . . . AN AWESOME Allah!

Wisdom- A Poem

Wisdom

ALLAH knows what is best for us
So why should we complain
We always want the sunshine
But He knows there must be rain.

We always want laughter
and the merriment of cheer
but our heart will lose
their tenderness
If we never shed a tear.

ALLAH tests us often
with suffering and sorrow
He tests us not to punish us
but to help us meet tomorrow.

For growing trees are strenghtened
if they can withstand the storm
and the sharpness of the chisel
gave the marble its grace and form.

ALLAH tests us often
and for every pain
He gives us provided we are patient
Is followed by rich gain
So whenever we feel that
everything is going wrong
It is just ALLAH'S way to make our spirit strong!

Pride

                            Pride

"Certainly He(Allah) does not love the proud ones." (Quran-16:23)

The Messenger of Allah Muhammad [Peace be upon him] said :: "Whoever has an atoms worth of kibr (pride) in his heart he will not enter paradise." " A man said, "What if a man likes his clothes to look good and his shoes to look good?" He(pbuh) said, "Allah is beautiful and loves beauty. Pride means denying the truth and looking down on people."  ." (Hadith-Related by Muslim (1/65))

"What Color Was The Dog?"

"What Color Was The Dog?"
Why Muslims are in such a dire state today
Once there was a community of Muslims who were small in number yet strong in imaan and strong in action. So much so that, the kufaar [non-believers] could not defeat them in battle even though they had the Muslims out numbered.

One day a young man from the kufaar[non-believers] pretended to enter into Islam and he went to the big sheik [learned man] in one part of the city and listened to his teaching of the Quran. The subject happened to be on the chapter of the Quran called Al Kahaf (the Cave, #18].

When the sheik completed his talk he offered a chance for the brothers present to ask some questions. When it came the turn of the non-believer, he asked the sheik the question:

"Sir, in the story of the 'sleepers' in the cave, there is mention of a dog. And I was wondering if I might inquire as to what color the dog might have been? I hope you don't mind my asking, especially if it is something that maybe you don't know the answer to."

Immediately the sheik says to the young man, "That's no problem at all, everyone should know that the dog was YELLOW."

The young man said, "Are you sure? I mean, could it have been another color?"

"No." replied the old sheik, "It was definitely YELLOW." Once again the young man thanked him and when on his way.

The next night the young non-believer man went to the other side of town and sat in another gathering of knowledge and they too were discussing different things about verses in the Quran.

So when it came time for the teacher to give each person attending, the opportunity to ask a question, the non-believer man raised his hand and then asked the question, "In the chapter about the "Cave", the sleepers are mentioned in different numbers but each time there is a reference to their dog as being counted along with them. Now I was wondering whether or not anyone of knowledge has ever made any reference to what the color the dog might have been?"

The sheik immediately said, "Yes! The dog in this story in the Quran was BLACK."

The young non-believer man was pleased and continued, "Sir, are you quite certain that the color of the dog mentioned in the story was BLACK?"

"Young man," he quickly replied, "I'll stake my reputation on that as a fact."

"Thank you, sir." Said the young man.

The next night the non-believer posing as a Muslim went back to the first sheik and then when it came time for the questions and answers he raised his hand and asked, "Sheik, may Allah reward you for all your effort and knowledge and for sharing it with us. Could you maybe remind me about the answer to the question the other night about the color of the dog in the cave in Surah Al-Kahaf?" (Holy Quran: Chapter 18).

The sheik said, "There is no doubt whatsoever amongst the great scholars of Islam on this question. The dog was YELLOW. And anyone who says other than this has no knowledge."

With that the young man spoke up again and said, "Sir, what would you say if someone else said that he would stake his reputation of being a scholar in Islam on the fact that the dog is not yellow, but rather that the dog is most certainly BLACK?"

The sheik quickly replied, "Then his reputation is not that of a scholar but one of a fool."

Now the next time the non-believer man went to the sheik that was upholding the idea of the dog being BLACK, he told the sheik that the sheik on the other side of town was calling him names and saying that he had no knowledge of Islam and that for sure that the dog was YELLOW. The old sheik became angry and shouted, "You tell him, that I said he is the one without knowledge. I'm the one who graduated from the greatest of schools of Islam, while he is but a fool."

The plan was working. Before long the community was divided into two groups. Each group was claiming that their sheik was the one with the correct answer.

Fighting broke out in the streets and the Muslims began attacking each other all over the city. Everyone became involved to the extent that there was not a single person who was excluded from this terrible situation. Screaming, shouting, hitting and fighting were everywhere.

And then it happened. The non-believer went back out to his people and told them, "Let us go to fight them now. You will now find them most easy to defeat."

And that is exactly what they did.

The Boy & the Apple Tree

The Boy & the Apple Tree

A long time ago, there was a huge apple tree. A little boy loved to come and play around it everyday. He climbed to the treetop, ate the apples, took a nap under the shadow…he loved the tree and the tree loved to play with him. Time went by…the little boy had grown up and he no longer played around the tree every day.

One day, the boy came back to the tree and he looked sad. "Come and play with me" the tree asked the boy. "I am no longer a kid, I do not play around trees any more" the boy replied.

"I want toys. I need money to buy them." "Sorry, but I do not have money… but you can pick all my apples and sell them. So, you will have money." The boy was so excited. He grabbed all the apples on the tree and left happily. The boy never came back after he picked the apples. The tree was sad.

One day, the boy who now turned into a man returned and the tree was excited "Come and play with me" the tree said. "I do not have time to play. I have to work for my family. We need a house for shelter. Can you help me?" " Sorry, but I do not have any house. But you can chop off my branches to build your house." So the man cut all the branches of the tree and left happily. The tree was glad to see him happy but the man never came back since then. The tree was again lonely and sad.

One hot summer day, the man returned and the tree was delighted. "Come and play with me!" the tree said. "I am getting old. I want to go sailing to relax myself. Can you give me a boat?" said the man. "Use my trunk to build your boat. You can sail far away and be happy." So the man cut the tree trunk to make a boat. He went sailing and never showed up for a long time.

Finally, the man returned after many years. "Sorry, my boy. But I do not have anything for you anymore. No more apples for you …" the tree said. "No problem, I do not have any teeth to bite" the man replied. "No more trunk for you to climb on" "I am too old for that now" the man said. "I really cannot give you anything... the only thing left is my dying roots" the tree said with tears. "I do not need much now, just a place to rest. I am tired after all these years" the man replied. "Good! Old tree roots are the best place to lean on and rest, Come, come sit down with me and rest." The man sat down and the tree was glad and smiled with tears…

This is a story of everyone.
The tree is like our parents

When we were young, we loved to play with our Mum and Dad...

When we grow up, we leave them…only come to them when we need something or when we are in trouble.

No matter what,
parents will always be there and
give everything they could
just to make you happy.

You may think the boy is cruel to the tree, but that is how all of us treat our parents.
We take them for granted we don't appreciate all they do for us, UNTIL it's too late.
May Allah forgive us of our shortcomings and may He Guide us,
Insha'allah Ameen.

Love & Honour your Parents

And your Lord has decreed that you worship none but Him. And that you be dutiful to your parents. If one of them or both of them attain old age in your life, say not to them a word of disrespect, nor shout at them but address them in terms of honour.

And lower unto them the wing of submission and humility through mercy, and say: "My Lord! Bestow on them Your Mercy as they did bring me up when I was small."

"Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Álayhi Wasallam )said that Jareel said that"Woe unto him in whose presence his parents or either one of them attains old age, and (through failure to serve them) he is not allowed to enter 'Jannah". To this Rasulullah(Sallallahu Alayhe wassallam) said Ameen!
